GeForce GTX 1080 vs Radeon RX 6700S benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce GTX 1080 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 6700S in gaming.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 6700S has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 6700S also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
As stated by the manufacturer, they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6700S has a significantly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 1080 at 180 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce GTX 1080 over the Radeon RX 6700S.
