GeForce GTX 1080 vs Radeon RX 5700 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce GTX 1080 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 5700 in gaming.

In our comparison, the GeForce GTX 1080 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce GTX 1080 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.

Next up, in terms of GPU memory, they both have the same amount of memory at 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, both the GeForce GTX 1080 and the Radeon RX 5700 have an identical TDP. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce GTX 1080 is better than the Radeon RX 5700.
