GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs Radeon RX 6950 XT specs and performance
For gaming, the Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card is better than the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in our tests.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6950 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6950 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon RX 6950 XT has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 11 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has a slightly lower TDP at 250 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6950 XT at 335 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 6950 XT is better than the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
