GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs GeForce RTX 2080 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 2080 beats the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in gaming performance.

In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 2080 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 2080 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.

As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has slightly more memory with 11 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

In addition, both the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and the GeForce RTX 2080 have an identical TDP. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 2080 is better than the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
