GeForce GTX 1070 Ti vs Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q benchmarks

For gaming, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q graphics card is better than the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti in our tests.

In our comparison, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

As stated by the manufacturer, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has a significantly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti at 180 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q is better than the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti.
