GeForce GTX 1060 vs Radeon RX 7800 XT comparison
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 7800 XT beats the GeForce GTX 1060 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 7800 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7800 XT has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 6 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 1060 has a significantly lower TDP at 120 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7800 XT at 263 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 7800 XT is better than the GeForce GTX 1060.
