GeForce GT 730 vs Radeon HD 8490 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce GT 730 beats the Radeon HD 8490 in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the GeForce GT 730 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the GeForce GT 730 has significantly more memory with 2 GiB of memory compared to 1 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon HD 8490 has a slightly lower TDP at 35 W when compared to the GeForce GT 730 at 49 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce GT 730 over the Radeon HD 8490.
