FX-9800P vs Ryzen 7 5700X3D comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D performs better than the FX-9800P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9800P in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the FX-9800P has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-9800P. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has a slightly higher clock speed than the FX-9800P. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has significantly more L2 cache than the FX-9800P

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the FX-9800P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
