FX-9800P vs A9-9425 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the FX-9800P beats the A9-9425 in overall performance. Despite this, the A9-9425 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the FX-9800P has significantly more cores than the A9-9425. Indeed, the FX-9800P has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the A9-9425. It also has more threads than the A9-9425. Our comparison shows that the A9-9425 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-9800P. In terms of cache, the FX-9800P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A9-9425
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the FX-9800P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
