FX-9590 vs Xeon E3-1505M v6 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1505M v6 is faster than the FX-9590. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9590 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-9590 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E3-1505M v6. Also, the FX-9590 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1505M v6 outputs less heat than FX-9590 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-9590 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E3-1505M v6. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-9590 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
