FX-9370 vs Xeon E3-1535M v6 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E3-1535M v6 performs better than the FX-9370. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-9370 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9370 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1535M v6. Also, the FX-9370 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1535M v6 outputs less heat than FX-9370 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-9370 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E3-1535M v6. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-9370 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
