FX-8370 vs Xeon E5-2650 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2650 is faster than the FX-8370. Despite this, the FX-8370 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2650 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the FX-8370 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8370. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8370 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2650. Also, the FX-8370 has a significantly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E5-2650 outputs less heat than FX-8370 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8370 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
