FX-8350 vs Xeon X5670 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon X5670 performs better than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5670 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the FX-8350 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8350. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5670. Also, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon X5670 outputs less heat than FX-8350 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon X5670. Despite this, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8350.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the FX-8350 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
