FX-8350 vs Ryzen 7 9700X comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 9700X is faster than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 9700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the FX-8350 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8350. Our comparison shows that the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 9700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 9700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 9700X outputs less heat than FX-8350 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 9700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the FX-8350 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
