FX-8350 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U is faster than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-8350 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U. Also, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U outputs less heat than FX-8350 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U. The FX-8350 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8350 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
