FX-8350 vs Core i7-8850H comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-8850H performs better than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-8850H has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the FX-8350 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8350. Our comparison shows that the FX-8350 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8850H. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8350.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8350 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
