FX-8320 vs Xeon X5670 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8320 is faster than the Xeon X5670. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5670 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more cores than the FX-8320. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the FX-8320. It also has more threads than the FX-8320. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8320 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5670. The Xeon X5670 outputs less heat than FX-8320 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8320 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5670. Despite this, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8320.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-8320 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
