FX-8320 vs Xeon E5-2650 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2650 beats the FX-8320 in overall performance. Despite this, the FX-8320 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2650 has significantly more cores than the FX-8320. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2650 has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the FX-8320. It also has more threads than the FX-8320. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8320 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2650. The Xeon E5-2650 outputs less heat than FX-8320 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-8320 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
