FX-8320 vs FX-8320E specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the FX-8320 beats the FX-8320E in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8320E in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8320 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. The FX-8320E outputs less heat than FX-8320 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8320 has more L2 cache than the FX-8320E. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8320 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
