FX-8320 vs Core i7-4800MQ specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8320 is faster than the Core i7-4800MQ. Despite this, the Core i7-4800MQ has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8320 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-4800MQ. Also, the FX-8320 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-4800MQ outputs less heat than FX-8320 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8320 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-4800MQ. The FX-8320 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8320 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
