FX-8320 vs Core 7 150U comparison
In our benchmarks, the FX-8320 beats the Core 7 150U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core 7 150U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 7 150U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the FX-8320 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8320. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8320 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core 7 150U. In terms of cache, the FX-8320 has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core 7 150U. Despite this, the Core 7 150U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8320.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8320 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
