FX-8300 vs Xeon E3-1220 v5 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 is faster than the FX-8300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8300 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-8300 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8300 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1220 v5. Also, the FX-8300 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1220 v5 outputs less heat than FX-8300 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E3-1220 v5. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
