FX-8300 vs FX-8320E specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the FX-8320E beats the FX-8300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8300 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8300 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8300 has significantly more L2 cache than the FX-8320E. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the FX-8300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
