FX-8150 vs Xeon E3-1220 v3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8150 is faster than the Xeon E3-1220 v3. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the FX-8150 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8150 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1220 v3. The Xeon E3-1220 v3 outputs less heat than FX-8150 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the FX-8150 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
