FX-8150 vs Core i3-1005G1 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8150 is faster than the Core i3-1005G1. Despite this, the Core i3-1005G1 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the FX-8150 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-1005G1. Indeed, the FX-8150 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-1005G1. It also has more threads than the Core i3-1005G1. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8150 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1005G1. The Core i3-1005G1 outputs less heat than FX-8150 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8150 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i3-1005G1. The FX-8150 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-8150 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
