FX-8120 vs Xeon X5650 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8120 is faster than the Xeon X5650. Despite this, the Xeon X5650 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon X5650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-8120 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8120. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8120 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5650. The Xeon X5650 outputs less heat than FX-8120 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8120 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5650. Despite this, the Xeon X5650 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8120.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-8120 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
