FX-8120 vs Xeon X5570 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon X5570 performs better than the FX-8120. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8120 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-8120 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-8120 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5570. The Xeon X5570 outputs less heat than FX-8120 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8120 has more L2 cache than the Xeon X5570. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-8120 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
