FX-6300 vs Xeon X5687 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5687 is faster than the FX-6300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5687 has slightly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-6300 that has 3 cores. Despite this, the FX-6300 has more threads than the Xeon X5687. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon X5687 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-6300. Also, the Xeon X5687 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A FX-6300 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5687 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-6300 has more L2 cache than the Xeon X5687. Despite this, the Xeon X5687 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-6300.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-6300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
