FX-6300 vs FX-8370 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the FX-8370 beats the FX-6300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the FX-8370 has slightly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-6300 that has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-6300. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8370 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-6300. Also, the FX-8370 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A FX-6300 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8370 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8370 has slightly more L2 cache than the FX-6300. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-6300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
