FX-6300 vs FX-8350 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the FX-8350 beats the FX-6300 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the FX-8350 has slightly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-6300 that has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-6300. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-6300. In terms of cache, the FX-8350 has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the FX-6300. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-6300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
