FX-6300 vs FX-8320 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-8320 performs better than the FX-6300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the FX-8320 has slightly more cores with 4 cores whereas the FX-6300 has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-6300. Both the FX-6300 and FX-8320 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the FX-8320 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A FX-6300 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8320 has more L2 cache than the FX-6300. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the FX-6300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
