FX-6100 vs Xeon X5570 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon X5570 performs better than the FX-6100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6100 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon X5570 has slightly more cores than the FX-6100. Indeed, the Xeon X5570 has 4 cores compared to 3 cores found in the FX-6100. Despite this, the FX-6100 has more threads than the Xeon X5570. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-6100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5570. In terms of cache, the FX-6100 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5570. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-6100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
