FX-6100 vs Xeon W3580 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon W3580 performs better than the FX-6100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6100 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon W3580 has slightly more cores than the FX-6100. Indeed, the Xeon W3580 has 4 cores compared to 3 cores found in the FX-6100. It also has more threads than the FX-6100. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W3580 has a slightly higher clock speed than the FX-6100. In terms of cache, the FX-6100 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon W3580. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the FX-6100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
