FX-4300 vs Xeon X5670 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5670 is faster than the FX-4300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-4300 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more cores than the FX-4300. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has 6 cores compared to 2 cores found in the FX-4300. It also has more threads than the FX-4300. Our comparison shows that the FX-4300 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5670. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-4300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5670. Despite this, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-4300.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-4300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
