FX-4300 vs N100 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-4300 is faster than the N100. Despite this, the N100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the N100 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-4300 that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-4300 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the N100. The info from our database shows that the FX-4300 has more L2 cache than the N100. Despite this, the N100 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-4300.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-4300 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
