FX-4100 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-4100 performs better than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-4100 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-4100. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-4100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 2400GE outputs less heat than FX-4100 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The FX-4100 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-4100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
