FX-4100 vs N100 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-4100 is faster than the N100. Despite this, the N100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the N100 has significantly more cores than the FX-4100. Indeed, the N100 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the FX-4100. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-4100 has a significantly higher clock speed than the N100. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The FX-4100 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-4100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
