FX-4100 vs Core i5-4288U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the FX-4100 beats the Core i5-4288U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-4288U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-4100 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-4288U. Also, the FX-4100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-4288U outputs less heat than FX-4100 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the FX-4100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
