EPYC 7543P vs Xeon Silver 4110 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon Silver 4110 beats the EPYC 7543P in overall performance. Despite this, the EPYC 7543P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the EPYC 7543P has significantly more cores with 32 cores compared to the Xeon Silver 4110 that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon Silver 4110. With our hardware info, we find that the EPYC 7543P has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon Silver 4110. Also, the EPYC 7543P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon Silver 4110 outputs less heat than EPYC 7543P thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the EPYC 7543P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
