EPYC 7543P vs Xeon E-2176M comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E-2176M performs better than the EPYC 7543P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the EPYC 7543P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the EPYC 7543P has significantly more cores with 32 cores compared to the Xeon E-2176M that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E-2176M. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the EPYC 7543P has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E-2176M. Despite this, the Xeon E-2176M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E-2176M outputs less heat than EPYC 7543P thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the EPYC 7543P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
