EPYC 7543P vs Core i3-1315U benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-1315U performs better than the EPYC 7543P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the EPYC 7543P in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the EPYC 7543P has significantly more cores with 32 cores compared to the Core i3-1315U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-1315U. Our comparison shows that the EPYC 7543P has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1315U. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the EPYC 7543P has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-1315U. The EPYC 7543P also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the EPYC 7543P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
