Core Ultra 9 285H vs Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core Ultra 9 285H beats the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core Ultra 9 285H has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 9 285H has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme. Also, the Core Ultra 9 285H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core Ultra 9 285H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme. The Core Ultra 9 285H also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core Ultra 9 285H has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
