Core Ultra 7 255H vs Core 7 240H comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core 7 240H is faster than the Core Ultra 7 255H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core Ultra 7 255H in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core Ultra 7 255H has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Core 7 240H that has 10 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core 7 240H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core Ultra 7 255H. Also, the Core 7 240H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core Ultra 7 255H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core 7 240H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core Ultra 7 255H has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
