Core i9-9900 vs Xeon Silver 4114 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon Silver 4114 beats the Core i9-9900 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i9-9900 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon Silver 4114 has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i9-9900 has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-9900. Our comparison shows that the Core i9-9900 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4114. Also, the Core i9-9900 has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i9-9900 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Silver 4114 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i9-9900 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
