Core i9-8950HK vs Core i7-10870H specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10870H is faster than the Core i9-8950HK. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-8950HK in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10870H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i9-8950HK has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-8950HK. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i9-8950HK has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-10870H. Despite this, the Core i7-10870H has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-10870H has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-8950HK. The Core i7-10870H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i9-8950HK has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
