Core i9-7900X vs Core i5-13600KF comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-13600KF is faster than the Core i9-7900X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-7900X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-13600KF has slightly more cores with 14 cores compared to the Core i9-7900X that has 10 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-13600KF has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-7900X. Also, the Core i5-13600KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-13600KF outputs less heat than Core i9-7900X thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i9-7900X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
