Core i9-14900KS vs Ryzen 9 9950X benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-14900KS is faster than the Ryzen 9 9950X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 9950X in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i9-14900KS has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 9 9950X. Indeed, the Core i9-14900KS has 24 cores compared to 16 cores found in the Ryzen 9 9950X. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 9950X has more threads than the Core i9-14900KS. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 9950X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-14900KS. Despite this, the Core i9-14900KS has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i9-14900KS has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 9 9950X. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 9950X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i9-14900KS.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i9-14900KS has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
