Core i9-13900K vs Ryzen 9 9950X benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 9950X beats the Core i9-13900K in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i9-13900K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-13900K has significantly more cores with 24 cores compared to the Ryzen 9 9950X that has 16 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 9950X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-13900K. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Core i9-13900K CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 9950X CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i9-13900K has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 9 9950X. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 9950X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i9-13900K.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i9-13900K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
