Core i9-12900F vs Xeon E5-2690 v4 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-12900F is faster than the Xeon E5-2690 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2690 v4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-12900F has slightly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Xeon E5-2690 v4 has 14 cores. Despite this, the Xeon E5-2690 v4 has more threads than the Core i9-12900F. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2690 v4 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-12900F. Despite this, the Core i9-12900F has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i9-12900F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2690 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-12900F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
