Core i9-11980HK vs Xeon W-11855M comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-11980HK is faster than the Xeon W-11855M. Despite this, the Xeon W-11855M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-11980HK has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon W-11855M that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-11855M. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-11855M has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-11980HK. Despite this, the Core i9-11980HK has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i9-11980HK has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
